Hello,
(First: sorry for my english)
I have an "idea/question" about running street competition. It's not the running chosen by IUF, there must be a reason...
It may be a selection, not in groups, but in run by rider. Every rider can ride all skatepark/lines in an give (giving?) time.
For finals that can be the same system or also a battle system, like flat where here 2 riders can use all skatepark/lines with a X try to make a tricks.
In this type of competition, I think riders are more free, they can use all lines so land more tricks, that's call more to creativity.
That's depend how the lines are build but I think the competition will be more fluid. Maybe it takes more time on big skatepark (like in Montréal) for ride every spot...
Your opinion?

We had this / try this and it is very difficult to judge and also it can become endless. The sections was invented to save a mountain of time and to make it easy to place judges. It very difficult to place judges where they can see the entire skatepark.

Like Olaf said this is how the street competitions used to be and we decided to change it because it wasn't working nicely.
The current way the street competition is organized let's you ride pretty much all the obstacles, the only difference is that the skatepark is divided in 3 parts. Aside from saving enormous amount of time like Olaf mentioned, the current system allows the riders to breath between their tricks, it adds competition and motivation between the riders.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both options (as well as more different options), highlighting different aspects of Street riding. Ultimately, all these different competition formats (group sessions, runs, Slopestyle, battles, etc.) could be gathered in a Street-specialized event similar, for example, to the Street League they have in skateboarding.
But for now, considering the crowd we have, the Street competition format currently in used seems to make consensus, especially considering that it still allows for short lines, which are an important aspect of "normal" Street riding and are one of the big advantages of the "run" format.
